EastEnders has confirmed Elaine Knight’s big discovery about her husband George in the show’s latest episode.
This week, Elaine called a meeting to try and get to the bottom of Cindy Beale’s Christmas Day attack. But things soon got out of hand and Junior ended up confessing that he and Cindy were in the locked office on the night of the club crush.
Later, Junior and George both paid Cindy a visit in hospital – and though they never spoke, they each spotted the other and grew suspicious of their intentions.
In today’s episode, George continued to hide his bloodied shirt in a cupboard in The Vic, but Elaine found him and wondered why he was back.
He admitted that he had visited Cindy in hospital, to see how bad her condition was and to prepare herself for if she didn’t make it.
This caused more tension with Elaine, who was still upset that he accidentally called Cindy his wife in the aftermath of her dramatic affair reveal.
Elaine was suspicious because George had previously proclaimed at the family meeting that he wasn’t going to visit Cindy.
That evening, George tried to talk to Elaine again and explained that he’s been cautious since Cindy walked out on him years ago.
He put his cards on the table and told Elaine that he’ll try to make amends with her for as long as it takes. She soon softened, and said that he could stay in Linda’s room for now.
But it seems there’s hope for their relationship, as George and Elaine then shared a passionate kiss before he left for the gym.
However, Elaine then discovered the plastic bag in the cupboard while cleaning. She was shocked to find George’s bloodied shirt and quickly alerted Gina and Anna.
The trio realised that it was George’s shirt from Christmas Day and grew concerned.
As he continued to box in the gym, George’s family began to question whether he’s responsible for the attack on Cindy. What will they decide to do next?
