Abi Webster (Sally Carman) makes a massive discovery in her mission to find the person responsible for
her deepfake videos in Coronation Street.
It’s Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) who leads Abi down potentially the right path, as she reveals more
information about her new job.
Bethany tells Abi that she now works for a magazine company, but her first article will be writing a profile on Corey Brent, the teenager who killed Abi’s son Seb.
With this knowledge, Abi does some digging and later tells Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) that Corey’s father Stefan owns the business Bethany works for, and is also a board director of the production company that made the documentary on her son’s killer.
Convinced Stefan is responsible for the deepfake videos, Abi and Kevin report him.
In this new video, Abi and Kevin are waiting in the police station discussing Stefan.
When Lisa (Vicky Myers) – aka DS Swain – walks in with Stefan, she tells Abi that she shouldn’t be here while the arrest and investigation is taking place.
Just as the detective reiterates to Abi that the police need to deal with the matter and not her, she walks off with Stefan, leaving Abi and Kevin thinking their nightmare might finally be over.
In the week, when Abi asks Kevin about him getting up in the night, he puts it down to stress but later calls into the salon with a stolen mobile phone and asks Max Turner (Paddy Bever) if he can hack into it.
Meanwhile, when Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) opens an email to find a video of Kevin breaking into Stefan’s office, he rushes over and tells his mate it’s another deepfake.
Later, when Kev turns up at the office, Stefan says the video footage of him breaking and entering could land him in jail.
Just as he returns home, Kevin finds Abi and Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) waiting for him.
With Stefan in trouble with the law and being questioned by Swain, will Kevin follow suit after this crime?
