Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) continues her plan to drug Ken Barlow (William Roache) in Coronation Street soon, but remains unaware more people around her are realising something might be going on.
The troublesome face started to lace Ken’s drinks with drugs to prevent her from losing her carer job. Cassie knew that if Ken fell unwell and couldn’t look after himself, he would continue to pay her for help around the house.
Cassie’s secret was spotted by a family member a few days ago. At Bertie’s birthday party, the young lad saw Cassie, but was told to keep it a secret.
He ended up telling Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) though, who relayed her worries to Daniel (Rob Mallard).
In upcoming episodes, Cassie slips some antihistamine into Ken’s drink while making the tea. When Adam (Sam Robertson) and Alya (Sair Khan) pop by, they’re concerned to find Ken looking terribly unwell.
Later, Ken starts to feel better and decides to open up his bank account. He’s confused to see some unusual transactions and lets Tracy (Kate Ford) know.
Tracy attempts to confront Cassie, but she seemingly worms her way out of the situation because towards the end of the week, Ken announces that she’s moving in.As Steve (Simon Gregson) and Amy (Elle Mulvaney) attempt to process the news, Cassie explains to Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) that Ken now needs round the clock care.
The development leaves Evelyn mildly suspicious – could she be onto her daughter?
