Coronation Street viewers believe Leanne Battersby has “sussed out” the affair between her fiance Nick
Tilsley and sister Toyah Habeeb, warning them to be cautious.
Earlier this year, Nick (played by Ben Price) and Toyah (portrayed by Georgia Taylor) found themselves
in bed together, due to Leanne (Jane Danson) prioritising The Institute over her family and loved ones.
As viewers will remember, Leanne was drawn into the enigmatic cult by mentor Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper), with Nick and Toyah expressing their worries about Leanne, particularly Toyah who was recently diagnosed with germ-cell ovarian cancer.
With no one else to confide in, Nick and Toyah began to grow incredibly close – but it didn’t take long for one thing to lead to another. After a surprise kiss, the pair ended up sleeping together.
Regrettably, they were discovered by Rowan – who took a photo of them during a passionate moment, reports the Express.
Revealing his true intentions, Rowan has since been blackmailing Nick into investing in The Institute’s new resource centre. If he refused, he would tell Leanne about his affair.
This week, Nick decided to come clean with everyone, and while visiting Toyah at the hospital, he confessed that he was in love with her and wanted to be with her.
However, Toyah suggested they suppress their feelings to protect Leanne from The Institute. In a twist, Nick later received a voice message from Rowan demanding a £20k investment by midnight, or he would tell Leanne about his affair with Toyah.
Rowan’s blackmail plot went pear-shaped when Nick threatened to dob him in to the fuzz for extortion. But twist hungry Corrie fans are speculating that Leanne Battersby might be a step ahead, plotting her own sweet vengeance.
Gossiping away on a Corrie fan page on Facebook, one user speculated: “I have a feeling Leanne has known about Nick’s affair for months. What is she up to?”
Another added their two pence, saying: “Leanne will get revenge by mortgaging the restaurant to pay the institute’s new centre.”
While a third suggested: “She’s done fraud before so it’s possible.”
