CORONATION Street’s DI Swan made a chilling discovery tonight about Joel Deering – and it spells his
end of the time on the cobbles.
The detective – who is played by actress Vicky Myers in the ITV soap – finally got the break she needed
and it was from her own daughter Betsy.

Viewers know Lisa has become increasingly concerned that Nathan Curtis isn’t responsible for Lauren Bolton’s disappearance.
And while Lauren has insisted he is, hoping that real culprit Joel will come through and send her and son Frankie to live in Belfast and she can escape him fully.
However in tonight’s episode Lisa got a worrying piece of information from her daughter when Betsy was encouraged to tell her what Joel had done to her.
She wasted no time in hauling Joel in for a voluntary chat.

Confronting him about his messages to her daughter, Lisa challenged Joel to explain why he, a professional man in his 30s, was messaging a young teenager like Betsy.
But her questioning appeared to go nowhere as Joel lied and claimed Betsy had a crush on him.
And with no evidence, and no formal reason for questioning, Lisa was forced to let him go.
She even gave him a lift back to the cobbles and apologised, making out that everything was rosy between them.

But it wasn’t that simple and later it was clear she still had suspicions.
At the station she slipped by the front desk to use the already logged in computer to check the custody logs – and she found exactly what she needed.
