Rowan Cunliffe has finally been outsmarted by Leanne Battersby in Coronation Street.
Leanne turned against The Institute last week after finding out they’d tried to blackmail Toyah Battersby
and Nick Tilsley over their affair.
The cult’s leader, Rowan, was put on the back foot when Leanne swore she would do everything possible to force The Institute to give back the money Amy Barlow had wrongfully invested.
In Monday’s (September 9) episode, Nick went to the police station to hand over a notebook full of details about The Institute’s threats and manipulations.
Meanwhile, Leanne revealed to Amy that she’d emailed herself a copy of all of the secret files that she’d deleted from Rowan’s laptop.
Rowan eventually turned up asking for Leanne’s help, claiming that he too was being used and abused by The Institute.
The cult leader promised that if Leanne handed over the secret files, he’d make sure that The Institute returned the £40k that Amy had invested.
Leanne could tell something was amiss, so she secretly sent Amy a copy of all of the secret files. When Rowan thought he’d gotten the sensitive information back, he turned nasty again.
Rowan taunted Leanne by calling her gullible and suggesting it had been easier than expected to manipulate her. However, Rowan was in for a surprise when Amy, Nick, and Toyah suddenly turned up.
“You got my email?” Leanne asked, with Amy responded: “Yep, and so did the police!”
Rowan stormed out, promising Leanne: “You’re going to regret this!”
Leanne shouted back that her only regret was “ever laying eyes” on Rowan. Has Leanne brought down the dangerous cult?
