Coronation Street will feature the return of another dead character in upcoming scenes, as Abi Webster begins to experience visions after witnessing Mason
Radcliffe’s death.
Yesterday’s (January 6) episode saw Mason being stabbed by his criminal older brothers after Dylan Wilson brought a knife out with him, before Abi found Mason bleeding on the floor. Despite her best efforts to keep him alive, Mason later passed away from his injuries after being rushed to hospital.
Abi was clearly deeply affected by her experience, as she broke down in husband Kevin’s arms following Mason’s death and was later seen looking at a photo of her own son Seb Franklin, who was also killed in a violent attack in 2021.
In scenes that will air next week, Toyah Habeeb admits to Kevin that she’s hugely concerned about Abi after what she has been through, and suggests that she might benefit from some professional help.
When Kevin speaks to Abi, she’s adamant that she is coping just fine and doesn’t need to have any counselling. But when she’s alone, it becomes clear that Abi is actually struggling as she continues to relive Mason’s final moments.
Abi can’t stop thinking about Mason and she later heads to the memorial garden. Kevin soon comes across an emotional Abi apparently speaking to Seb and, as the week goes on, she continues to have visions of her late son.

While in the café with Roy Cropper, Abi confides in him that she has been having flashbacks of Seb’s death and has been hearing his voice since Mason’s stabbing.
Roy tries to convince Abi that she should speak to Kevin about what she’s going through, but will Abi take his advice?
Sally Carman, who plays Abi, has confirmed during an interview with Inside Soap that Harry Visinoni returned to the soap to play Seb again in Abi’s emotional vision scenes.
“Those scenes are so powerful, it’s as if he has died all over again,” she said. “Harry returned to film it, and basically, Abi sees Seb as if he’s just been attacked.
“It’s so very sad but there are also some beautiful moments that are really moving, they broke my heart.”
The actor added that the trauma of witnessing Mason’s final moments will also make her become “super-protective” of her young son Alfie, revealing that Abi will be “unravelling” over the coming weeks.
Seb’s brief return marks another ghostly comeback for a dead Corrie character, with the soap having recently brought back serial killer Richard Hillman in a dream sequence as part of Gail Rodwell’s exit plot.
Viewers also saw the return of Paul Foreman last year following his death, after he appeared to husband Billy Mayhew in a vision.
