Coronation Street updates fans on ruthless Rowan Cunliffe next week ahead of his return appearance on the show.
The scheming villain recently appeared to get his comeuppance, as it was confirmed that he’d been charged with fraud and blackmail following his antics in The Institute.
As one of the top leaders in the cult, Rowan played a key role in recruiting Leanne Battersby to be a member.
This had a damaging knock-on effect for Leanne’s family, as Rowan turned sinister in his efforts to keep total control over her. He even tried to blackmail Nick Tilsley after uncovering the businessman’s affair with Leanne’s sister Toyah.
Next week, Nick takes a worrying phone call from the police and updates his brother David Platt.
Nick glumly shares the news that Rowan is pleading not guilty to the charges he’s facing, so the blackmail and fraud case will have to go to trial. This casts doubt on whether Rowan really will face the full consequences of his actions.
Emrhys Cooper, who plays Rowan, recently posted a behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram showing him back filming for Coronation Street.
These upcoming final scenes are expected to tie up his storyline before he leaves for good.
“There might be a little bit more of a twist yet to see, so keep watching and you’ll soon see.”
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, October 14 on ITV1. For more gossip from the show, you can check out our 14 Coronation Street spoilers for next week and 21 spoiler pictures for upcoming episodes.
