Coronation Street will air a terrifying collapse for Lauren Bolton next week, as she fears that she may be
losing her baby.
With pregnant Lauren currently living at Joel Deering’s old flat while she waits for him to arrange a
move to Ireland for her, Joel is finding it a struggle to keep paying for Lauren’s expenses while hiding his
secret double life from fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey.
Viewers have already seen sinister Joel, who groomed and abused Lauren earlier this year before attacking her, searching online for drugs that could induce premature labour.
In scenes that will air on Friday, August 2, Lauren will panic when she experiences severe stomach pains.

After Joel goes to see Lauren at the flat, he continues to promise her that she will be making the move to Ireland very soon. He then assures a blissfully unaware Dee-Dee that she will have his complete attention from now on.
Lauren faces another big setback when she is mugged while out in the precinct, with her friend Max Turner rushing to comfort her.
When Joel finds out about the incident, he pretends to be worried for Lauren while he secretly plans to get her out of his life for good.

After Joel leaves, Lauren suddenly collapses in pain, holding onto her stomach. When Max turns up at her door to check on her, Lauren shouts to him that something is wrong, and she’s terrified that she could be losing her baby.
Will Lauren and the baby be okay, and could villainous Joel really have been responsible for the awful situation?
Lauren star Cait Fitton recently spoke about Lauren’s feelings about her pregnancy, explaining that her character is desperate to keep her baby safe no matter what.

“Lauren is still petrified, because she knows what Joel can do – he won’t stop at anything. Now it’s not just her she’s got to worry about, it’s the baby,” she said.
“Parents will know that your baby comes first – that’s Lauren. She doesn’t care what happens to her now – as long as that baby’s safe, that’s all she cares about.”
