Coronation Street is set to air the verdict of Lauren Bolton’s trial in tense courtroom scenes next week.
In scenes set to air next Monday (January 20) and Wednesday (January 22), things will be stacked against Lauren as the jury weighs up everything they’ve heard.
As Roy tells the court that Lauren is a kind and caring person, Lauren’s fellow prison inmate Brie stands up and claims that the cast her arm is in is due to Lauren attacking her. Lauren assures the barrister that no such attack happened.
Lauren then learns that baby Frankie is unwell and has been taken to hospital, but she can’t go and see him due to being in court. Her frustrations get the better of her, and she says to the barrister that she’s glad Joel Deering is dead.
Later, Lauren tells Max at the hospital about her outburst and how much she regrets it, and she is convinced that she is going to jail. She tells him that she doesn’t care – as long as Frankie can recover from his infection.
Later in the week, as Lauren stays beside her son in the hospital, the barristers deliver their closing statement to the jury. Dee-Dee Bailey calls up Lauren and says that the jury can’t reach an agreement. Lauren worries that it’s a bad sign…
