Coronation Street stars Jodie Prenger and Tony Maudsley have celebrated a positive change in their
characters Glenda and George Shuttleworth’s storyline.
In scenes that aired earlier this week, the siblings appeared to cool their bitter feud over the future of the
funeral parlour and dad Archie’s will, which stated that Glenda was entitled to half of the business.
Following the seeming end to their dispute, Tony took to Instagram with a picture of the two characters happily embracing.

“And peace is restored,” he wrote. “They love each other really #George #Glenda #TheShuttleworths #Corrie.”
Jodie shared in the love in the comments, writing: “Ey, I bloody love ya.”
She later added in her Instagram Stories (via Manchester Evening News): “Oh, I didn’t like arguing with this one… Glenda does love our George.”
Earlier this year, Tony opened up about the feud between the two characters, saying that “from George’s point of view it was always odd that Glenda wasn’t left much by their father”.

“I think he understood why, because Glenda has always been into high kicking on the high seas and singing songs,” he explained. “She’s Little Miss Showbiz, she always was, she was never a responsible kid.
“She couldn’t even look after her pets properly. Pets died and she went and got another one or she’d wait for a new fad to kick in and say she wanted a terrapin. Things like that.
“So George knows that she’s not a responsible person. He’s just got to tread very carefully. And I’m sure George being George, he’ll want the best outcome for everyone.”
