Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has teased unfinished business between her character Sarah Barlow and bad boy Damon Hay.
Damon is expected to make a return to the ITV soap within the next few weeks for new prison-based scenes. Ciarán Griffiths, who plays
Damon, was spotted back on set in early August.
Damon gets a mention on screen next week after Sarah asks her estranged husband Adam to check her voicemails for her, as she can’t access them herself from Turkey.
Adam listens to the messages and is shocked to come across one from Damon, which is sure to pave the way for his on-screen return.
Discussing how Sarah feels for Damon now, Tina replied: “I think she’ll always have a little bit of something for Damon. You know, there’s just something there. I think he got her. He really, really understood her, and he didn’t judge her for anything.
“I feel like if they had the opportunity, they could have been completing themselves together. And I think she understands that whatever happens, he’s got her back and I think she really trusts him.”

Asked whether Sarah is happy to be single for the time being, Tina replied: “Yeah, she’s actually really happy being single for once. I think she’s had enough of idiots! I do like to think she’s on a few dating apps and goes on some nice dates.
“To be honest, the way things are happening at the moment, she probably hasn’t got much time to spend on relationships so she’s content being single and focusing on her family.”
Sarah took her trip abroad after discovering that her daughter Bethany was in intensive care in a Turkish hospital. It’s since been revealed that Bethany underwent a liposuction procedure at a cosmetic surgery facility, which went wrong.
Damon’s last on-screen appearance was in March this year, as he split from Sarah after being jailed for an armed robbery.
