Coronation Street star Seamus McGoff has addressed his final scene as Matty Radcliffe on the soap.
The character bowed out as the character earlier this week in tense prison scenes, which saw Matty grab a female guard and threaten her with a knife, before taking Bobby Crawford as a hostage amid a tense stand-off.
Rob Donovan, whom son Bobby had been visiting, then talked Matty down, before overpowering him. It was later revealed that the whole situation was set up by Rob in an effort to get into Bobby’s good books.
Seamus has now revealed that these were his final scenes, sharing behind-the-scenes snaps from the prison moment.
“Out with a bang! @coronationstreet,” he captioned his Instagram post.
Matty was brought in last year as a guest character as part of the Mason Radcliffe storyline, which culminated last week in Mason being killed off after a violent attack by brothers Matty and Logan..
Still, fans sent their well wishes to Seamus following the conclusion of his stint, one writing: “Brilliant acting!! I wish you luck. They still need to catch Logan.”
“Great episode, bad lad. All the best in the future,” another added, while a third shared: “Well done Seamus, love watching you.”
“Fantastic episode you did us proud, love you,” a fourth wrote, while a fifth added: “Well done Seamy, you were brilliant.”
In other Corrie news, star Charlotte Jordan has teased further details of her character Daisy Midgeley’s thoughts of revenge in scenes set to air next week.
