The twists and turns keep coming in Coronation Street‘s Becky Swain mystery – could tough boss DI Costello have something to hide?
There’s a new hint in the closing moments of Wednesday’s episode, as DC Kit Green takes a major risk by taunting his superior officer.
What to Read Next
In new scenes tonight, Kit confides in his girlfriend Sarah Barlow about how he recently investigated a case and realised it was linked to a historic one that Lisa Swain’s late wife once worked on.
Kit requested access to Becky’s files at the time, but Costello blocked him and warned him to leave it alone.

Never one to back down easily, the rogue copper continued to investigate regardless…
As Kit opens up to Sarah, he’s facing big trouble at work for threatening Underworld client Eli.
Costello puts Kit on desk duties until the dust settles, but advises him to make out that it’s because of his recent injuries, which will avoid a formal inquiry.
Suspiciously, Costello seems more annoyed that Kit got caught out for corrupt behaviour when he targeted Eli, rather than the incident itself.

But could Kit’s boss have something else to hide too? When Costello continues to give him a hard time, Kit can’t resist biting back by hinting that he has some dirt on him.
As Costello describes himself as “a man of integrity” with “nothing to hide”, Kit scoffs: “Not strictly true that, is it, sir?”
Costello replies: “Tread carefully, DC Green…”
Will Costello’s secrets play a role in the larger mystery over whether Becky was engaged in corrupt behaviour at work? Only time will tell.
