Coronation Street fans will see a familiar face on the cobbles soon as part of Daisy Midgeley’s exit story.
Earlier this year, Charlotte Jordan announced she was leaving the ITV soap after four years amid a slew of cast exits.
The Mirror revealed Daisy’s mother Christina will be returning to the show, with Amy Robbins reprising her role. A Coronation Street source also confirmed the news to Digital Spy.
The publication said she is due to begin filming scenes set to air later this year, tying into Daisy’s exit.
In recent scenes, Daisy discovered she is pregnant, but she’s unsure who the father is.
It could be that Kit Green is the youngster’s parent after the two began a romantic relationship over the past few weeks.
However, Daisy’s ex-fiance Daniel Osbourne could be her child’s father after the pair had a one-night stand when he briefly split up with girlfriend Bethany Platt.
Both Kit and Daniel learned they could become dads when Daisy was rushed to hospital following a fall, and a doctor revealed her news.
Upcoming scenes see Daniel ask Daisy to take a DNA test to determine who the father is, but when she receives the results, she deletes the information and confides in Jenny Connor that the identity of the father isn’t relevant and will remain a secret.
Life is set to become more complicated for Daniel as his deception with Daisy is set to be exposed.
Bethany congratulates Daisy on her pregnancy news after spotting a positive test in her handbag while she’s on shift at the Rovers Return.
Bethany and Daniel stay at the pub, announcing they have set a date for their wedding which infuriates Daisy.
Secrets will be exposed with huge consequences, leading Bethany to decide to go ahead with her big move to London.
