Coronation Street legend Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) was left gutted in recent scenes when Carla Connor (Alison King) revealed her plans to sell the Rovers.
Jenny and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) have been in debt to Carla for well over a year, after secretly taking the money Stephen Reid had stole from Underworld.
When Carla found out about their betrayal, she was absolutely furious, and Daisy and Jenny have been trying to pay it back in instalments ever since – though they’ve yet to make much of a dent.
Earlier this year, the situation escalated when Carla was forced to seek private healthcare for another kidney transplant and demanded that the money be paid back in full.
With Daisy and Jenny unable to fork out, Carla had to borrow money from Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) to fund her surgery.
Carla recently told Jenny that she had no choice but to put the pub on the market, as she refused to be in debt to a child any longer.
Jenny was devastated, but Carla put her foot down, insisting that she didn’t have time to wait for Jenny to pay her back.
Next week, Jenny breaks the news of the sale to Daisy, but fails to mention that she’s asked Carla for first refusal and hopes to buy the place herself.

When Daisy later gets tipsy, she starts to make digs at Carla for selling the pub from underneath them, which certainly doesn’t win her any favours with the factory boss.
Following Daisy’s outburst, Christina Midgeley (Amy Robbins) overhears Carla telling Jenny that she’d be better off buying the pub without Daisy, calling her a spoilt madam.
Furious, Christina and Daisy vow to take Jenny down once and for all.
The Rovers Return is soon set to be on the market again, and a Coronation Street star has hinted that their character could be a potential buyer.
Next week, Carla Connor (Alison King) is set to tell Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) that she’s decided to sell the pub, as she can’t wait any longer for Jenny and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) to pay back the money they stole from her.
Viewers will remember that Daisy and Jenny pocketed almost £250,000 of Carla’s money, after tracking down the funds that serial killer Stephen Reid had stolen from Underworld, before using it to buy back the Rovers.
Carla was beyond furious when she found out, and Jenny and Daisy agreed to gradually pay her back.
However, their plan was derailed earlier this year when Carla had to go private for another kidney transplant and desperately needed all of her money back.

With Jenny and Daisy unable to fork out, Carla borrowed the money from Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), but upcoming scenes will see her tell Jenny that she needs to pay her back, so she’s putting the Rovers on the market.
Jenny tells her that she wants first refusal on buying the pub, though Corrie has hinted that the ownership of the iconic boozer could end up going to someone else – DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
In a clip from the Off Script… Coronation Street & Emmerdale podcast posted to the ITV soap’s Instagram account, host Liz Fletcher asked actress Vicky if Lisa could end up behind the bar, pointing out that Vicky herself grew up in pubs.

With Lisa’s daughter Betsy constantly begging her to give up her work as a detective and put her family first, Liz was keen to know if being pub landlady could be on the cards for Lisa in the future.
‘100 percent!’ Vicky replied, explaining that she’d have ‘absolutely no problem’ pulling pints behind the bar.
Reflecting on her childhood, Vicky explained how her publican parents were commonly known among locals as Bet and Alec – a nod to the iconic Coronation Street characters.
