One of Coronation Street‘s most iconic homes looks set to be at the centre of the soap’s upcoming fire
storyline.
The ITV show has recently undergone night shoots for explosive new scenes, and now fresh news has
emerged suggesting the Platts may be in danger.
According to The Sun, the family’s home will be set ablaze and burn down as part of the upcoming stunt, which is due to air for viewers in the New Year.
The filming was recently confirmed by Salford City Council, who warned local residents of “loud explosions and fire effects” for the shoot.
“Coronation Street will be reconstructing a house fire on Coronation Street Film Set, Trafford Wharf Road, Trafford Park,” the message further revealed.
Some of the show’s stars have teased the scenes as well, with Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) posting an Instagram Story alongside Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) and Paddy Bever (Max Turner) as they’re seen wrapping up warm between takes.
“Night shoot slay,” she wrote in a caption.
The scenes will come after the upcoming exit of Gail Rodwell, with Helen Worth set to bow out of the legendary role this Christmas after 50 years.
“This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world,” the actor said earlier this year.
“I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding,” Helen added.
