Soap fans have pointed out that it’s completely unrealistic for the patients to always have a room or ward for themselves.

Earlier this month, Corrie revealed that Cait Fitton’s Lauren Bolton was alive and heavily pregnant with Joel’s (Calum Lill) baby after she was thought to be dead.

The situation began heating up in last night’s episode.

After discovering a terrified Lauren is pregnant, Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling Brown) insists on taking her to the hospital to be checked out, believing she’d be safe there.

However, evil predator Joel is soon also in the know, thanks to his unsuspecting fiancée, Dee-Dee.

The episode took a dramatic turn, but soap fans were too focused on the fact that Lauren was completely alone in the hospital ward to concentrate on the drama.

Fans slammed ITV for its “unrealistic” scenes, knowing that this would never happen in a real NHS hospital.

Viewers flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to point out this recurring issue.

“Corrie, not many sick folk in Weatherfield hospitals,” one viewer said.

While another pointed out how unlikely Lauren would be to have a room to herself in real-life. “Private side room in the hospital again ffs,” the scoffed. (sic)

A third moaned: “An empty maternity ward except for Lauren? Do me a favour!”

“Yet there she is. Propped up in her hospital bed. On a completely empty silent maternity ward. Because that’s realistic isn’t it?” agreed a fourth.

Knowing how busy hospitals in England can get, a fifth viewer commented: “I’m surprised people get a bed. Apparently, the corridors are overflowing with customers. Warrington is hardly flash. I’m thinking this show might contain a lot of fibs?”
