Coronation Street fans are all saying the same thing about actor James Cartwright following news of his casting in the ITV soap.
It was confirmed over the weekend that James will join the cobbles as newcomer Theo Silverton, who will arrive in Weatherfield while working as a scaffolder.
In typical Corrie fashion, conflict soon arises and it’s not long before Theo is locking horns with a number of the Street’s residents, including Julie (Katy Cavanagh) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley).
Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), however, soon comes to his rescue, helping him to patch things up with the locals and let’s just say that there is an instant attraction there for Todd.
Whether or not Theo becomes Mr Right for Todd remains to be seen but it’s safe to say fans are keen to see the undertaker in a happy relationship after all this time.
But it’s not just the prospect of a happy ending for Todd that has fans talking, with a number of viewers recognising actor James from his time on CBBC smash hit children’s series The Story Of Tracy Beaker, which is based on the book of the same name by Jacqueline Wilson.
Who did James Cartwright play in Tracy Beaker?
James portrayed the role of Nathan Jones across 40 episodes of The Story Of Tracy Beaker between 2003 and 2004, making his debut in the second series of the children’s drama.
The character – who was a trainee careworker – often found himself caught up in The Dumping Ground care kids’ mischief, much to the annoyance of his more senior colleagues.
‘Just realised the one on the right played Nathan in Tracy Beaker,’ said one Metro reader, while another branded James a ‘legend’, sharing a picture of him in his signature Tracy Beaker role.
X, formerly Twitter, user Liam added: ‘Nathan from Tracey Beaker lol’

What other TV shows has James Cartwright been in?
He is also known for his work on The Archers, where he played Harrison Burns for over a decade between 2014 and 2025.
You may have also spotted him portraying Tony Sellick in 2019’s Downton Abbey movie.
Discussing joining the cobbles, James said: ‘I think Theo is a good guy, he comes in with the best of intentions, as most people do, but he may upset some people with his behaviour.’
‘I had a line the other day where I said: ‘I think I left my trousers in the bedroom’ so make of that what you will.’
