Coronation Street has released three dramatic spoiler clips offering a first look at next week’s fire episodes.
The lives of several characters will hang in the balance as a blaze rages through the Platt family home.
Show bosses officially announced the storyline last weekend, confirming that the fire will be started deliberately when a burning rag is posted through the letterbox at No.8.
Corrie‘s new spoiler clips now preview the build-up to the incident, as well as a sneak peek at the stunt itself.
Video one sees Toyah Habeeb tidying up the Platts’ home after finding Hope leading a livestreamed séance at the house alongside Ruby, Lily and Sam.
Toyah is left in a vulnerable position when Abi lets herself in and berates her for making a call to social services this week. Abi lights a match as the tense situation unfolds, which could make her a key suspect for the subsequent arson attack.
As Abi turns menacing, Toyah accidentally triggers her recent flashbacks involving Mason Radcliffe and her late son Seb.
Video two sees a crowd gather outside the Platt house as smoke fills the property.
Nick Tilsley worries when he can’t get hold of his son Sam, while Max Turner and Shona Platt fret over Lily’s whereabouts.
Tim and Sally Metcalfe also face the frightening possibility that the fire could spread to their home.
Video three offers a first look at the dramatic moment that No.8 explodes.
By this point, Max has entered the house to search for Lily, placing him right in the danger zone.
The ITV soap has confirmed that Max will be pulled out of the burning building and rushed to hospital, where he faces an uncertain future.
With Max leaving the cobbles this year, could this be the end for him?
Paddy Bever, who plays Max, recently commented: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.
“I’m eternally grateful for the chance to bring Max’s story to life and it’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”
