Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was left reeling in Coronation Street to find out that she’s pregnant, with the discovery coming minutes after she witnessed the love of her life get engaged to someone else.
The barmaid, as viewers know, is still holding a candle for Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), despite him being in a relationship with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
Daniel has been conflicted over who he wants to be with but he ultimately made his choice on Christmas Day as he got down on one knee and proposed to Bethany, who said yes.
The proposal was witnessed by Daisy, who had been texting Daniel all day for a meeting – quite clearly having something she needed to tell him.
Subsequent scenes saw the barmaid sitting on the stairs in the hallway of the Rovers, staring at a pregnancy test, which came back positive.
The question is: is the baby Daniel’s?
Despite being in an on and off relationship with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), Daisy is still very much in love with Daniel – but him being engaged has thrown a spanner in the works of any potential reunion.
Or has it? Daniel is seemingly still struggling to come to terms with his feelings for Daisy, which were reignited a number of weeks ago after a brief reunion, which Bethany remains in the dark about.
It’s safe to say that things have become very complicated!
Discussing the storyline in question, Coronation Street boss K
ate Books said: ‘It’s a brilliant love triangle that keeps on giving and we will certainly carry that through December and into the new year.
‘Daniel is in love with two women, that’s what it boils down to, he loves Bethany but he also loves Daisy, and not many people can pull that off – but if anyone can, a Barlow can!’
