Alina Pop finds herself in a desperate situation and turns to Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape for help. After
being attacked at her hotel, Alina realizes that she’s no longer safe. The assault, which was thwarted by
Ronnie Bailey, leaves her shaken and terrified for her life. With the trial against the traffickers looming,
she knows the danger isn’t over yet and fears for her safety and that of her young son, Dorian.
Alina’s attacker is still at large, and she is consumed by fear, unsure if she can even trust the police to protect her. Despite their best efforts, the authorities can’t offer her and Dorian protective custody, leaving Alina to take matters into her own hands. She knows she has to disappear until the trial concludes, but she can’t bring Dorian along. The risk is too high, and she fears for his life. With nowhere else to turn, she begs Tyrone and Fiz to take care of her son while she goes into hiding.
Tyrone and Fiz are initially taken aback by Alina’s request. They understand her fear, but they’re concerned about the dangers this decision might bring to their own family. Tyrone, torn between his love for his son and the potential threat to his other children, agrees to take Dorian in temporarily. Fiz is more hesitant, worried about the possible repercussions. However, seeing Alina’s desperation, she agrees, but not without reservations.
Alina is immensely grateful to them, though her heart aches at the thought of leaving Dorian behind. She promises it will only be for a short time, just until the verdict is reached and the traffickers are put behind bars. Tyrone reassures her that they will look after Dorian as if he were their own, but he can’t shake the fear that this decision might put his entire family at risk.
After Alina leaves, Tyrone and Fiz try to carry on with their day-to-day lives, but the tension is palpable. Tyrone struggles to make sense of everything that’s happened and is constantly on edge, worrying that the traffickers might come looking for Dorian. Fiz shares his concern, doubting whether they made the right decision to take Dorian in. Despite Alina’s assurance that no one knows where they live, the uncertainty gnaws at them both.
As the days pass, Tyrone and Fiz do their best to care for Dorian, but the weight of the situation is heavy on their shoulders. The children sense something is wrong, and Fiz tries to keep things as normal as possible. She even gives Hope and Ruby a bit of money to distract them with treats from the shop.
However, the reality of their situation is never far from their minds. The fear that the traffickers might find out where Dorian is, or worse, come after them, lingers in the background. Fiz can’t help but worry that they might have put their family in danger by agreeing to help Alina. Tyrone, too, is haunted by doubts, questioning whether they did the right thing.
In the end, both Tyrone and Fiz are left hoping that the trial will be over soon and that Alina will be safe once again. Until then, they can only do their best to protect Dorian and keep their family out of harm’s way, all while praying that their decision doesn’t bring more trouble to their doorstep.
