Coronation Street has aired a heartwarming scene as Helen Worth prepares to bow out from the ITV soap as the legendary Gail Rodwell.
Fans of the soap will know that Gail is set to leave the cobbles on Christmas Day following Worth’s decision to leave the role after 50 years.
Tonight’s (December 9) episode gave viewers an emotional glimpse at what’s to come from Gail’s exit scenes, as the matriarch watched her neighbours from afar.
Towards the end of the episode, an emotional Gail looked on as Evelyn and Steve started bickering, Tyrone and Kevin worked together at the garage and Dee-Dee and Michael walked down the street with Glory.
A visibly moved Gail told Jesse that she has realised life on the cobbles will go on without her, telling him it’s the right time to leave with him for a fresh start in the South of France.
“Life goes on and I think I’m ready now to take that step,” Gail told Jesse, before instructing him to put an offer on a villa.
Elsewhere in the episode, Daisy spotted Daniel crashing Debbie’s car and took charge, telling Daniel to hand her the keys and meet her in the Rovers.
Daisy advised Daniel to stay the night at the Rovers to get their stories straight. But, detective Kit later discovered CCTV footage showing Daisy behind the wheel of the car. What will he do with this information?
