Coronation Street has confirmed a new romance for Cassie Plummer and Steve McDonald.

Earlier this year, Cassie began caring for Ken Barlow following his fall, with the pair forming a close friendship.

Ken confided in Cassie about his recent £50,000 premium bond win, which he decided to spend on a holiday for them

both.

There were some sparks between Cassie and Steve after she began her carer job, with Amy noticing that her dad may have secret feelings – but he firmly denied his attraction.

In scenes set to air on Sunday, October 27, Ken and Cassie plan their activities in Porto, before going to buy holiday clothes. A jealous Steve is then surprised to see Cassie looking fetching in her new jacket. These scenes are available to stream now on ITVX.

Next week, Cassie reveals she is going on a date. However, Steve is unimpressed to hear about the man she’s meeting, which makes Cassie suspect he’s jealous.

When her date doesn’t go to plan, Steve arrives and takes her to the Rovers to boost her self-esteem. Will the spark between them be reignited?

At Number 1, Ken is unaware that Cassie and Steve spent the night together. Adam later arrives at the house and is shocked to learn that his dad has paid for airport lounge tickets and first-class flights.

Adam reveals to Steve that he’s worried where Ken is finding the money to pay for his and Cassie’s lavish lifestyle, and fears he will go into debt.

The pair then agree that they will hold a family intervention once Ken and Cassie return from Porto. Will Ken finally tell his family about his premium bond win?
