Next week in EastEnders, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) puts his upcoming wedding to Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) in serious jeopardy.
The much-loved Walford couple were engaged last year, but in true Billy style, it didn’t go without a hitch.
In a first for the BBC soap, actress Emma Barton and co-star Jamie Borthwick recorded scenes in character as Honey and Jay Brown whilst running the London Marathon.
Billy had planned to go all out by proposing on the finish line, but he lost the engagement ring.
In a huge twist, Honey got down on one knee and popped the question instead! The event was then witnessed by their friends, family and neighbours in The Queen Vic as they watched the highlights show.
At Christmas, it was confirmed that the pair had finally set a date for the wedding, and it has a special significance.
The beloved couple will walk down the aisle on February 19, 2025 – which is the highly-anticipated 40th anniversary.
As per previous birthday celebrations, the soap is set to go all out for the occasion. It’s not one to be missed!
In addition to the happy occasion, the Queen Victoria will go up in flames, as confirmed in recent set pictures. A marquee can be seen set up in the centre of the Square Gardens amid the devastation – they won’t forget this day in a hurry.
There will also be a historic live episode, that will allow audiences to decide whether Denise Fox (Diane Parish) couples up with her ex-husband Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) or old flame Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
We will also finally learn who attacked Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) on Christmas Day.
As per previous birthday celebrations, the soap is set to go all out for the occasion. It’s not one to be missed!
In upcoming scenes, the preparations are well underway given Billy and Honey’s nuptials are less than a month away.
He’s buzzing around, organising a disco and ordering a barbecue.
A BARBECUE. Let’s not forget that it’s the middle of February, Billy.
He also makes a decision on who his best man will be. Unfortunately, his joy is short-lived when Honey realises that he’s made a costly error.
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) hears of their financial issues and decides that he’s going to help him out, enlisting Mo Harris (Laila Morse) onto his plan.
We’ve seen the stalwart struggle with his mental health in recent months, having bequeathed the Boxing Den to old pal Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) and selling up Peggy’s bar to Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington).
Will Billy accept his cousin’s cash?
