Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) are brought back together by an unlikely source in Coronation Street next week.

The couple have had a bumpy ride over the last few weeks, as Bethany has dealt with the ordeal of her botched cosmetic procedure.

Last month, the aspiring journalist jetted off to Turkey on a copywriting job for a new cosmetics clinic and decided to get liposuction while she was there.

However, the op was botched and left her fighting for her life with sepsis, as well as being fitted with a permanent stoma.

To complicate things further, her insurance declined to cover her medical expenses because she hadn’t disclosed the procedure, leaving her family in a frantic search for £25,000 to pay the bill so she could come home.

After a difficult time, Bethany told her boyfriend Daniel on Friday that he would be better off with his ex-girlfriend, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan). Although he reassured her of his love for her and not Daisy, Bethany insisted that he leave.

In scenes to air next week, Daniel explains to Bethany’s mum Sarah Platt that she has got it into her head that he won’t want to be with her now she has a stoma bag.

When Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) tells Daisy that Bethany has dumped Daniel, Daisy heads off to the hospital determined to set her straight.
