SHOCKING MOVE!!! Coronation Street legends report neighbour to social services.

Coronation Street couple Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) recently made the decision that they wanted to become foster parents.

The idea was Tim’s originally. The couple had tried to help Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), a troubled teen the rest of the neighbourhood had given up on.

They found that Mason was sincerely trying to turn his life around and, with Tim and Sally’s support, he could have achieved that. Sadly his life was cut short when he was stabbed, something which made Tim feel guilty and wishing he could have done more.

When he picked up Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) and her daughters in his cab  as she tried to flee from abusive husband Mick (Joe Layton), Tim again showed his caring side.

As Lou fled from the hospital where he took her, Tim took on responsibility for looking after Shanice (Molly Kilduff) and Joanie (Savanna Pennington) and brought them back to number 4.

In the wake of this Tim set up an appointment with social services to be considered as a foster parent. Sally was initially angry that he did this without consulting her but eventually came around to the idea.

Recently we saw Tim once again looking after Shanice and Joanie. Unfortunately this didn’t go well, as a squabble between the couple upset Shanice. For her, the dispute reminded her of the violent arguments that had erupted between Lou and Mick.

It was a lesson for Sally and Tim and they kept it in mind when Lou next asked them to look after the girls. Lou explained to Brody (Ryan Mulvey) that there was no food in the house, but at least she knew that Tim and Sally would give the girls a decent meal.

Aware of the difficult circumstances the two girls were facing at home, Sally and Tim debated what to do and how best to help them.

In upcoming episodes, Sally decides the best thing will be to contact social services with their concerns for the girls’ welfare.

Obviously this is something that won’t go down well with Lou, as she risks losing her children altogether – and getting on the wrong side of Lou isn’t a great idea.
