Emmerdale‘s Rhona Goskirk is forced to decide where her heart truly lies next week, after Marlon Dingle witnesses a charged moment between his wife and her ex-lover Graham Foster. But which man will Rhona commit her future to?

“Marlon would be the easier choice – he offers Rhona security and definite happiness with their blended family,” sums up Zoe Henry, who plays the conflicted vet.

“But there’s no escaping that Graham offers excitement and a different life – even if it does feel riskier…”

Rhona has been trying to keep a lid on her feelings for her ex ever since he returned to the village. However, when she arrives at Home Farm to discover Graham beaten, bleeding and vulnerable, her tenderness as she tends to his wounds soon turns into something else.

“In the physical act of trying to dress that wound, she’s very close to him and she’s touching his skin,” explains Zoe. “At that moment it’s like, ‘Bam!’ and she’s back where she was six years ago.”

While the pair don’t kiss, the pull between them is obvious – so when Marlon walks in on the intimate moment, he’s under no illusions regarding what’s going on.

Having secretly followed his wife to Home Farm, suspicious Marlon manages to slip away again unseen. However, as he processes what he’s witnessed, the chef realises he needs answers.

He knows full well that back when Rhona and Graham were a couple, Rhona was prepared to start a new life with Graham in France. She even went as far as planning to take her and Marlon’s son Leo – with no qualms about separating the lad from his dad.

Realising feelings so strong don’t completely disappear, Marlon confronts his wife, demanding to know if she’s still in love with Graham. While Rhona’s words don’t confirm Marlon’s fears, the look on her face is enough to give the devastated husband his answer.

Conflicted Rhona then desperately tries to explain her feelings, knowing that this conversation is make or break for her marriage. Later, as Graham waits outside the pub, Rhona arrives and reveals her decision about the future. But with her whole world at stake, which man has Rhona chosen?

“Rhona’s in an impossible situation of being dropped right back into where she was emotionally all those years ago,” notes Zoe. “And she’s now got to decide what she’s going to do with that…”
