The next day, the couple shared an honest conversation in which Carla promised her girlfriend that she wanted to marry her one day, but out of love rather than grief.
“The proposal might have seemed spontaneous,” Vicky exclusively told us. “But I feel it was something Lisa had thought about for a while.
“We’ve seen Lisa be a bit blunt with Carla since Craig died, but she’s grieving and questioning herself. Lisa has a lot going on in her head and overthinks everything, she is very distracted which is why she sometimes is not in the happiest of moods!”

Corrie fans have been keeping their fingers crossed for a wedding between Carla and Lisa, with Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy, even revealing to us that her character would love to play bridesmaid. Although, Vicky has now revealed that there’s no plans for the couple to walk down the aisle just yet.
“I think it would be really interesting to have a wedding that is full of joy and happiness and love,” she said. “No drama, no issues – whether that will happen I don’t know! It’s soap so there would have to be an element of drama. As far as I know it’s not on the cards…”

That said, the soap star also reassured viewers that Carla and Lisa will always rely on each other when it matters most.
“As the past few weeks have shown, and as Lisa knows more than anyone, nothing is forever,” the actor explained. “Lisa and Carla are both independent women who know their own mind and have mutual respect for each other. But at any time, either of them could say: ‘You know what, this isn’t working…’
“That’s not me foreshadowing anything, that’s life! Circumstances can change. But I believe they will be there for one another through thick and thin.”
