Corrie viewers are buzzing with theories that Lisa Swain’s wife Becky might not be dead after all and might have “faked her death”.

Lisa, played by Vicky Myers, first walked onto the cobbles in 2021. Her troublesome daughter Betsy, portrayed by Sydney Martin, made her debut earlier this year.

Little has been shared about Lisa’s history, except for the tragic loss of her wife Becky, a fellow officer, who was reportedly killed in action. As Lisa tells it, Becky met her end while pursuing a suspect, only to be tragically struck down by a fleeing vehicle at the scene.

Adding to the mystery, Lisa unearthed a shocking truth about Becky’s demise late last year: the thuggish duo, Matty (Seamus McGoff) and Logan (Harry Lowbridge), were implicated.

In the episode aired on June 11, Betsy is seen delving into some old boxes that a reluctant Lisa claims contain details on Betsy’s heritage, locked away until her 18th birthday, reports Leicestershire Live.

However, in a twist, Lisa reveals to her partner Carla Connor (Alison King), the actual contents of the box: a letter pertaining to a probe into Becky’s career prior to her death, painting a picture of suspected corruption which, upon discovery, put their marriage under pressure.

Coronation Street enthusiasts are certain they’ve uncovered a shocking plot twist involving Becky – despite her tragic passing being revealed by Lisa, who lamented: “She died that night – hating my guts.”

Yet with the latest insight into Becky’s shadowy past as a potential dodgy cop, fans are swirling with theories that she’s very much alive and under witness protection.

Corrie devotees took to a Facebook fan group to discuss their suspicions, suggesting Becky might not have met her end after all, with one posting: “I’m starting to think Becky faked her death and went into hiding and someday she will make her way back to Lisa..”
