Coronation Street‘s Bethany Platt faces an eventful return home from hospital next week.

The soap favourite is disturbed by an intruder as she continues her recovery at her mum Sarah’s flat.

Last month, Bethany underwent a cosmetic surgery procedure that went wrong at a private clinic in Turkey.

She was left fighting for her life in a Turkish hospital, racking up expensive medical bills, and was later transported back to the UK to receive further treatment back home.

Next week, Sarah collects Bethany from Weatherfield General as it’s time for her to be discharged.

Bethany breaks down in tears as she continues to process the news that she’ll live with a permanent stoma following the botched surgery.

As Sarah focuses on supporting her daughter, she rejects calls from an unknown number.

At the prison, a frustrated Damon Hay is seen struggling to get through to Sarah, clearly desperate to warn her about something.

Later, Bethany gets settled into the flat and Sarah leaves her alone for a while to go food shopping.

When Bethany hears the door open, she’s shocked to realise that it isn’t Sarah and a man wearing a balaclava has forced his way inside.

Bethany rushes to hide, but can she avoid being spotted by this mystery individual?

The break-in follows the mysterious disappearance of Damon’s secret stash of dirty money, which appears to have now brought trouble to Sarah’s door.

Damon offered up the cash to pay for Bethany’s medical bills, but it went missing before Sarah could decide whether to use it or not.
