Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has spoken about how a recent shock exit has affected her character Tracy Robinson’s ongoing storyline.
Tracy has had her hand in the till at the shop, stealing money while she’s been working.
Leyla Harding found out about it just before she died, meaning she’s taken that secret to the grave (although Eric Pollard will find out next week).
When asked how she feels things could have gone had Leyla not died, Walsh said: “I think [Leyla living] would have been Tracy’s saving grace, in a sense. She wouldn’t have been able to continue with it and it wouldn’t have got so out of hand.
“When Leyla found out, it was still pretty bad. I think Leyla had that loyalty to Pollard, so she would have had the power to either expose Tracy’s stealing or make it stop.
“Unfortunately for Tracy, that didn’t happen and she continued down a very slippery slope.”

Speaking about Leyla’s death, Walsh added that Tracy “didn’t feel relief when Leyla died, but there was a lot of guilt and shame during the funeral. She knew that Leyla had gone to the grave with this awful secret.
“But I think Leyla and Tracy’s relationship was good and she would have always wished that Leyla would have stayed alive.

“I don’t see how Tracy thought it would never come out, as so few people work in the shop! She hasn’t thought long-term but she must have always known that it would come out.”
Meanwhile, Tracy is set to learn exactly what happened to husband Nate in upcoming scenes.
