EJ celebrates Rafe’s birthday and “his” impending wedding.

After watching the Thursday, January 30 episode of Days of Our Lives, we’re right back to wondering something. Why does EJ want the DA job back so badly? There are a million other things he could do. And we’re also wondering something else. How long did he think he could hold on to Real Rafe?

Happy Birthday, Rafe

Well, it didn’t start out as a happy birthday for Rafe (Galen Gering). Oh, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) attempted to celebrate with a tied-up Rafe. He gave him the birthday hat and tried to feed him a muffin. He also gave his captive a gift. The gift of his plan.

He laid out the whole thing for Rafe like bad guys are wont to do. First, he assured Rafe a honeymoon night between Arnold (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) wouldn’t happen. Instead, after they are married, Jada suddenly gets outed for being a corrupt cop, and her whole world will blow up. However, EJ admitted that he had to manipulate things to make Jada look like a corrupt cop.

Next, Paulina (Jackée Harry) will rehire Fake Rafe, aka Arnold, as police commissioner. Arnold will then use his wiles to convince Paulina to hire EJ back as Salem’s DA.

And nothing could go wrong, right

Prison Break

Rafe managed to free himself and overpowered EJ instead of eating that birthday muffin. EJ taunted his captor so much it’s only right that Rafe got the best of the wannabe DA.

Rafe’s DiMera prison break sets up the Friday episode of DAYS. Will he be able to get to the wedding on time to stop the festivities? Or will Jada get cold feet? She knows something is up with Rafe. Sure, there’s no way she could guess he’s not really Rafe. But Arnold is throwing enough red flags that she should be worried.

Could this be a Love is Blind moment when she’s at the altar and decides she can’t go through with the wedding after all?

Stephanie (Abigail Klein) brought up Everett (ex-Blake Berris) a couple of times. It’s sad that Jada married one guy who had disassociative identity disorder. And now she’s about to marry a doppelganger. Somebody needs to cut Jada a break here!
