Stories have circulated online claiming that Amy Roloff recently lost her father, Gordon Knight, with him being 96 at the time of his passing. However, the story might be more complicated than it appears.

As seen on the TLC series, Amy was married to Matthew Roloff, with whom she shares four children. Following their divorce in 2016, Amy married Chris Marek at Roloff Farms in 2021.

On social media, an announcement concerning Gordon read, “R.I.P!!!!! Very sad to announce that Amy Rolloff’s Father passed away on June 13th. May you rest in peace.”

However, there were some issues with the story. In particular, a similar message appeared on social media that came out the previous month, claiming that Gordon had passed away back in June, usually on June 13. The different versions of the story even appeared within some of the same groups online.

In addition, any news concerning a death in the family hadn’t been confirmed by the Roloff family. However, the rumor, which is now believed to be a hoax, still gained traction online. One recent version of the story ended up getting at least 3K likes on social media.

As fans of Amy and the Roloff family know how close Amy is with her father, the recent death hoax spurred on a number of condolences from fans. Some comments included “So sad. My condolences to you and your family. May he RIP.” and “My heart goes out to you Amy, may your father rest in peace.”

Gordon’s health issues have also made headlines in the past. As noted by People, during the time of Amy’s wedding to Chris, there had been concern over her father being able to attend. Taking to Instagram Stories at the time, she shared, “My Dad. He’s 92. He’s been in the hospital for the last two weeks.”
