David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) sardonic smile is well and truly wiped off his face next week on Coronation Street when he fears that Platt history is about to repeat itself.
David has spent most of his time recently embroiled in a feud with DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) after the copper slept with his wife, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) and later got together with his sister, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
Things have simmered down between the two following David’s revenge mission relegating Kit to desk duty, but David looks set to face fresh turmoil, courtesy of a pregnancy test.
Next week, Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) has a ‘stomach ache’ and wants to bag school. We’ve all had that stomach ache, right? David isn’t buying it and packs her off to school.
Aunty Sarah is much more concerned, especially when David tells her that Lily’s become entangled in a feud with a school friend over a boy which he believes to be the reason that she’s trying to skive.
He quickly forgets the events of the morning when, amongst the rubbish he’s furious that neighbour Carla Connor (Alison King) has dumped in his bin, he finds a pregnancy test.
David is filled with glee, convinced the test belongs to Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin). Sarah, however has other ideas…
The floor falls from beneath David’s feet when Sarah suggest the test could be Lily’s. Boys? Skiving school? A stomach ache?
