Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) faced a tough conversation in Coronation Street tonight as she attended her first therapy session.
Despite girlfriend Carla Connor’s (Alison King) insistence that it would do her the world of good, Lisa didn’t exactly head into the session with an open mind.
Viewers will know that the detective is currently on desk duty, after making a mistake at work which led to Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) suffering a seizure while in custody.
Before she can get back to active duty, DI Costello has ordered for Lisa to undergo a course of therapy, much to her disgust.
In tonight’s episode, she sat down with her therapist, who was keen to get to know her, though Lisa refused to give much away.
Seeing it as more of a box ticking exercise than anything else, Lisa was determined to get through the session saying as little as possible – though she couldn’t avoid tackling the difficult topics forever.

When the therapist brought up Lisa’s ex-wife Becky, it was clear that she didn’t want to talk about her.
Viewers will know that Becky’s death has cast a huge shadow over Lisa’s life in recent years.
Also a police officer, Becky was on duty when she was mowed down by a getaway driver during a robbery, before dying on the scene.
To make matters worse, it transpired that Becky was being investigated for corruption at the time of her death.

With Craig Tinker’s recent death in similar circumstances having taken its toll on the Weatherfield police department, the therapist was keen to know if it had brought back bad memories for Lisa.
As she pointed out that it obviously had, the therapist kept pushing, with Lisa finally revealing some of her feelings.
She even let slip that she had been left questioning whether she really knew Becky at all.
