EastEnders fans have been left in tears of laughter after actor Jamie Borthwick made an unexpected appearance at a recent darts match.
The Jay Brown actor was spotted in the crowd at the PDC Paddy Power World Dart Championships, holding up a cheeky sign to tease EastEnders fans with.
‘I know who hit Cindy,’ it read, alongside a smiley face.
This year’s Christmas Day instalment of the BBC soap saw Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) infidelity finally exposed – but that wasn’t the only drama in store.
At the end of the episode, Cindy was struck over the head with a shovel by a mystery assailant and left for dead.
Now, fans have been left wondering who was responsible, with countless suspects already in the frame.
The true attacker is set to be revealed during the show’s 40th anniversary week later this year, so speculation will surely continue to build.
Discussing the storyline, EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw said: ‘Our 40th anniversary storylines have been in the works for some time, but even at the very start of planning, we knew that we wanted to reveal the identity of Cindy’s attacker as part of this.
‘Many characters currently find themselves in the line of questioning, but over the coming weeks, the audience can look out for clues themselves to who may be the culprit.
‘Cindy’s attacker reveal is just one of many stories we have planned for the anniversary as it is set to be a week of explosive drama for the audience to remember.’
Taking to social media, fans revealed their reactions to Jamie’s hilarious stunt, with one Twitter/X user saying: ‘Only in the darts!’
There were plenty of crying emojis across the social media site as fans shared pictures of the actor with his sign, laughing along with him.
This isn’t the first time Jamie has appeared at the darts, having previously been spotted holding an ‘RIP Lola’ sign following the character’s tragic death in 2023.
Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) tragically died from a brain tumour in a heartbreaking storyline.
