Coronation Street viewers are convinced they’ve worked out who will rescue Todd Grimshaw from Theo Silverton.

This year on the cobbles, Theo (James Cartwright) arrived on the scene and quickly began a romance with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). But it later emerged that Theo was married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and the couple had two children, Millie (Kaitlyn Earley) and Miles (Lewis William Magee).

In a heartbreaking twist, Theo opened up to Todd about living in the closet and disclosed he was compelled to endure conversion therapy during his youth.

The reality about Theo and Todd eventually surfaced and the duo have since set up home together. Yet, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Theo and Todd, as they’ve faced numerous challenges, reports the Daily Star.

In recent scenes, their romance took a sinister twist when Theo started exerting dominance over Todd. Matters are set to deteriorate further for Todd as the mistreatment becomes violent.

Fans are now certain they’ve identified who will take down Theo and rescue Todd – and it’s a former soap icon. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: “Can’t stand Theo, everything about him screams narcissist.”

Anticipating the comeback of Todd’s sibling and soap legend Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), another fan posted: “Get Jason back, he’d sort Theo out!” A third concurred: “100%.” Another person added: “Yeah he wouldn’t stand for it would he.”

Jason, who first appeared on the soap in 2000, was last seen earlier this year when he returned as part of his mum Eileen’s (played by Sue Cleaver) exit storyline.

Meanwhile, Gareth, who plays Todd, recently opened up about the new abuse storyline, expressing concern for his character. He revealed: “Because Todd’s constantly calibrating what is normal and what is acceptable in the relationship.

“So very slowly things that are already crossing the line, that are already massive red flags are becoming slowly acceptable.

“That’s only going to get worse now at the point where it’s become physical and Todd is still able to convince himself that this is somehow fixable rather than a situation that he needs to walk away from.”
