Emmerdale‘s Charity Dingle impulsively offers to be Sarah Sugden’s surrogate next week, shocking her family and friends.

The unexpected announcement comes just as Sarah is coming to terms with the idea that she may never be a mum, having exhausted all other options…

“After her hysterectomy, Sarah’s starting to feel like she’ll never get to have a baby of her own,” reveals our Emmerdale source. “So, when her grandma offers to carry the child for her, she can’t believe her luck.

“Charity never expected to be pregnant again, but she and Cain both agree that they’re open to all possibilities to make Sarah a mum.

“After offering her financial support and getting nowhere, the one thing that Charity can offer Sarah now is her womb.”

The shock decision is made after the Dingles reach a dead end, after the surrogate Cain arranged to meet at The Woolpack fails to turn up – leading Ryan Stocks to brutally tell him he’s been scammed.

Desperate to help her granddaughter, Charity first asks Sarah’s auntie Victoria if she’ll be the surrogate, but she’s not keen…

“Victoria is absolutely blindsided by Charity’s proposal, and she gets totally overwhelmed,” our insider continues. “But instead of backing down, Charity piles the pressure on and guilt-trips Vic, telling her that she’s Sarah’s final and only chance at motherhood.

“This makes Victoria feel even worse, as she doesn’t want to do it – but she also wants the best for her niece.”

Charity and Cain’s desperate mission alarms even more of their family, as Victoria opens up to appalled brother Robert about Charity’s offer.

Meanwhile, Cain fumes in the pub after being scammed, and his wife Moira worries that Cain diving head-first into solving Sarah’s problems is his way of masking the grief he’s feeling after losing his son Nate.

With all her options looking like dead ends, gutted Sarah resigns herself to the idea that she’ll never be a mum – before Charity impulsively blurts out that she’ll be the surrogate.

Her offer shocks Cain, who’s even more disapproving when Charity affirms that for now, she plans to keep her idea a secret from hubby Mackenzie.

Despite pleas from Cain and Sarah to tell Mack, Charity chooses to keep him in the dark…

“Mack really wants a family with Charity, but she’s always been firmly against it, having already done the whole babies thing,” our source reminds us.
