Emmerdale actor Ned Porteous has teased that there’s a big storyline brewing for the Tate and Dingle families and that their animosity for each other could boil over into full-on “war”.
In the newest instalment of the ITV soap, Caleb Miligan finally learns what happened on the day he was stabbed, which was that Joe organised the theft of his kidney.
We know that next week will see Kim and Cain form an unlikely alliance to try and nip things in the bud before they escalate, but in typical Kim fashion, she is manipulating events to suit herself…
On the next episode of the Off Script video podcast, which releases tomorrow but Digital Spy got to see a day early, host Kelvin Fletcher stated it’s starting to feel like a war between the two families.

Joe actor Porteous agreed with that sentiment, stating: “I like to think of this as the battlement stage, everyone’s getting their troops together for war, ‘Okay, let’s get all our team players in just in case. I’m not saying anything’s going down, but if there was…'”
Porteous recently returned to Emmerdale after a six year break, in which he appeared in Netflix’s Bridgerton, among other things.
When asked about the difference between filming a soap compared to other drama, the actor praised the fast-paced environment and the people who make it.

“I’ve no idea logistically how shows like this work, how they can produce so much quality television in such a small amount of time,” he stated, adding: “If you have a giant company like Netflix, when it comes down to filming one scene, they can afford to take four/five days to film.”
Explaining why it suited him so much, he added: “At the moment, I’m really enjoying having some thing relatively new to do every day, I really enjoy the kind of pace of it, I like not having to over-rehearse something. I like the ability to learn my lines, go on, have a play with it, and then move onto the next thing.”
