Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) feels completely and utterly betrayed by daughter Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders next week.
It’s quite ironic, given all Elaine has been doing since her separation from husband George (Colin Salmon) is neglecting Linda’s wellbeing.
In the last two weeks she’s left her to run The Queen Vic alone, while she partied with friends, gave lavish hand outs to their neighbour Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and to top it all off, serving underage children.
Two of the local teens then robbed jugs of punch, which were then consumed by their younger peers.
It seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back for Linda, who decided she only had bad memories of her 11 year stint behind the bar, and was deciding to sell her half.
Undoubtedly this was prompted by fears that Elaine too would have to move on, as ruthless George decided he was going to fight for his wife’s part of the boozer in their divorce settlement.
In upcoming scenes, the women continue to be at loggerheads over Linda’s choice, and the matter only worsens when the police arrive to question Elaine about her shocking actions.
With the threat of losing their license looming large, an emotional Linda rushes off to the caff.

While there, she bumps unto George, and the two have a surprising heart to heart about recent events. She explains that she wants to sell-up, and although he supports her plan, he also urges her to consider Elaine’s feelings.
Little do the pair realise, she is watching on from afar, and comes to a shocking conclusion about what they were discussing.
Elaine thinks that they’re plotting against her.
She heads to the bank with the intention of securing a business loan, but after being knocked back, she proposes the idea of grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) being her silent partner.
He’s strongly against the idea and reaffirms to Linda that the time has come for them to go.
Elaine reaches breaking point, and amid her frustration, collapses on the ground.
