EastEnders is set to provide an important update about Suki Panesar-Unwin after the dramatic events of her New Year wedding.
This week, Suki and Eve managed to get married without a hitch – marking the first lesbian wedding in the soap’s history.
But Nish wasn’t done yet, and after leaving Denise unconscious in Walford, he headed to the wedding venue to cause chaos.
He poisoned Eve’s drink and left her for dead, before telling Suki that they should die together as well. Ravi ended up pushing his dad off the balcony, but as Nish had tied himself to Suki, she was dragged down with him.
Nish died immediately, while Suki, Eve and Denise were all taken to hospital. Eve was relieved when Suki woke up at the end of yesterday’s episode with the newlyweds finally free.
In scenes that will air next week, the Panesars are forced to face the future and they struggle to come to terms with Nish’s death.
Unfortunately Suki is not out of the woods just yet, and Eve panics when her wife suddenly takes a turn for the worse in hospital. However, she and the family are reassured when the doctors explain what has happened to her.
Nugget in particular is struggling to accept his grandfather’s demise, especially as he helped him to hide out in Walford during the final weeks of his life, and Vinny attempts to reach out to him next week.
Meanwhile, Ravi is also finding it difficult to cope, as his actions indirectly caused Suki’s injuries. He visits the hospital to ask Suki for forgiveness, before later meeting up with Denise for an emotional chat.
Later next week, the Panesars are happy when Suki gets released from hospital, but Nugget is distracted by other matters and isn’t able to join in the celebrations. Priya tries to reason with her son, but will she be able to get through to him?
Denise then visits Suki on her return home, but the conversation soon turns to Ravi. With Denise and Ravi secretly starting up their romance again in recent episodes, will their secret become public?
