Tonight’s episode of EastEnders sees things take a turn as a new development involving Cindy Beale starts to come to light, and it could have serious consequences for Jasmine.
After Jasmine’s decision to plead guilty to Anthony’s murder, there’s a heavy atmosphere around the Square. Zoe Slater is clearly struggling to get her head around it all and doesn’t believe Jasmine is thinking clearly. She’s frustrated and at a bit of a loss, especially with so little she can actually do to help.
Trying to help, Kat steps in and offers to visit Jasmine herself, hoping she might be able to get through to her. At the same time, she gently encourages Zoe to take a breather and spend some time with her son, Josh, something that proves easier said than done.
Zoe later fills Max Branning in on everything, explaining that without Jasmine’s phone, there’s no real way of proving her innocence. Max is sympathetic, but there’s a slight awkwardness there too, as if he’s holding something back.

Meanwhile, Zoe makes an effort with Josh, but things feel a bit strained between them. It’s clear he’s been leaning more on Patrick, and there’s a bit of distance that Zoe can’t quite ignore. With everything else going on, it just adds to the pressure she’s already under.
Kat eventually returns from her visit, but it’s not the update Zoe was hoping for, Jasmine refused to see her. It’s another setback, and it leaves Zoe feeling even more stuck.
However, things take an interesting turn when Josh casually mentions something that catches Zoe off guard. He says he tried calling Jasmine about a month ago, but whoever answered hung up straight away. It seems like a throwaway comment at first, but it quickly raises questions.
Zoe soon realises that at that point, Jasmine didn’t even have her phone. Which can only mean one thing, someone else has had it all along. Max overhears the conversation too, and it’s clear this could be the missing piece of the puzzle.
Determined to act on it, Zoe heads straight to the police, hoping this new information might finally lead somewhere. If Jasmine’s phone is out there, it could contain the evidence needed to clear her name.

Elsewhere, Max decides to confront Cindy directly. He questions her about the phone, and she admits she never actually destroyed it as her guilt took over before she had the chance. She admits she’s thought about turning the phone in, but has been terrified of the personal consequences.
Max doesn’t hold back, giving her a simple ultimatum: hand the phone over, or he’ll tell everyone she’s had it all along. It leaves Cindy in a difficult position, and she’s clearly feeling the pressure.
Later on, Cindy heads to the Vic and tries to quietly get rid of the phone by slipping it down the side of a sofa. But things don’t quite go to plan. Oscar Branning accidentally bumps into her, knocking the phone straight out of her hand.
