Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has shared she was left “shaken” after recently having her phone stolen.
The star opened up about the incident on her BBC show Morning Live on Monday (March 10), explaining it proved extra distressing as she lost messages from her late father during the ordeal.
“It is quite a scary thing to happen to you, you’re walking down a road and then all of a sudden something’s taken out of your hand,” she said on the show.
“And that was about a fortnight ago that was taken from me. But thankfully I was okay. It did really shake me up.”
During a segment about phone thefts, Kym elaborated on what happened. She said she was taking her phone out of her pocket on the street to reply to a text and “within seconds it was swiped” from her hand.
“I felt really vulnerable, and I was really shaken,” she said. “I immediately wanted to get help but, of course, it’s not so easy when you don’t have your phone.”
Speaking later in the studio, Kym spoke about the deeper emotions she experienced after losing her dad last year aged 78.
“I’ve now lost messages that my dad sent me and things I can never get back,” she said. “It’s that emotional side of it.”
Paying tribute to her dad last year, who has previously diagnosed with prostate cancer, Kym shared: “For the first time in my life….I have no words. I love you dad. Always and forever. Rest easy Pops. Goodnight godbless.”
In other news, Kym recently addressed the possibility of returning to Coronation Street as Michelle Connor, admitting she would “never say never to going back”.
