Coronation Street has unveiled a curveball new romance in Weatherfield, with Jenny Connor becoming jealous immediately.

The other figure looking for a shot at love is George Shuttleworth, who remains heartbroken following the departure of Eileen Grimshaw last month. Despite still missing his ex-partner greatly, he decides to make a bold move next week.

In scenes set to air on Friday 8 August, George will be urged by his sister, Glenda, to stop pining over Eileen. She encourages him to set up a dating profile, though they are interrupted by Jenny.

She informs him that there is a burst pipe at The Kabin, and George heads there swiftly to fix the leak. As a token of gratitude, Jenny offers to cook George dinner, clearly indicating that she is romantically interested in him.

Later on, Glenda tells George that she has created a dating profile for him, and he’s already been attracting interest from potential suitors. Jenny, who has been struggling since leaving The Rovers, struggles to hide her disappointment given her interest in George.

“Jenny may have to get in there quickly if she’s interested in George. Glenda is determined to set her brother up with a new lady and isn’t known for hanging around when she’s on a mission,” our Corrie source shares.

“It’s been a difficult time for both Jenny and George. Jenny has faced a big life change after leaving The Rovers, while George has said his goodbyes to Eileen – the woman he thought he’d be with for the rest of his life. Could this bring them together in unexpected circumstances?

While Jenny and George could potentially form a connection, things are looking good for Carla Connor and Lisa Swain, with the pair set to move into their new home alongside Betsy and Ryan, the latter of whom will be invited by Lisa.

Ryan’s invitation will be delivered without the knowledge of Carla, though she expresses joy at the initiative shown by her partner. Following a tumultuous few months, could Carla and Lisa truly be settling down into calmer waters?.
