In tonight’s Coronation Street, Christina Boyd was finally caught out in her sinister scheme, as Daisy Midgeley confirmed her exit.
Christina and Daisy have been planning on conning Jenny Connor out of her money by pretending to be a man named Dom on a dating profile, and then getting a friend to pretend to be him in a person.
With Jenny head over heels for her suitor, she has fallen hook, line and sinker at his promise of an investment that would double her money, which is where tonight’s episode began.
However, things soon started to shift when Daisy caught Dom and Christina flirting out in the beer garden. She overheard that her mum is planning to betray her and keep all the money for herself.
“You reminded me of all the trouble she’s caused over the years, that girl,” Christina told Dom as a tearful Daisy watched on in secret. “And I tell you, when we are sitting in the sun, sipping cocktails, I won’t be giving that daughter of mine a second thought.”

Daisy then went upstairs to find Jenny in a state of a shock and told her she was almost the victim of fraud. ‘Almost’ is the key word, as the bank managed to move her money to a safe account.
While Jenny was ranting about conmen and their cheesy chat-up lines, Daisy very specifically used “flame-haired sorceress” as an example (Christina had bragged about using it while pretending to be Dom earlier on), subtly dobbing on her mum while feigning innocence.
A furious Jenny interrupted Christina’s bingo hosting and told the entire Rovers that she was almost conned. She proved it by calling up ‘Dom’ and watched Christina’s phone start ringing (where Jenny’s contact name was savagely saved as ‘Ron Weasley’).

As Kit Green escorted Christina out of the pub and to the station, Daisy whispered in her ear to keep her name out of it as she could still get her hands on the money. Christina quietly agreed.
Daisy then continued to protest her innocence to Jenny in the living room, pretending to be outraged when Jenny brought up her previous catfishing scheme. She even lied that she had never seen Christina and Dom together.
Daniel Osbourne, who recently found out about the scam, asked Daisy why the police hadn’t arrested her too and realised it was Daisy who tipped off the authorities.
“Here was me thinking you had a glimmer of conscience to do the right thing. You shopped Christina because she double-crossed you,” he told her, unconvinced that Daisy felt any real remorse or that Christina wouldn’t try and point the finger of blame.

Daisy then put another scheme into action when she called at the station to recommend they keep Christina in overnight, as she was worried that Dom might target her.
With Christina out of the way for the moment, Daisy told Jenny she needed a fresh start and will be leaving Weatherfield. Tomorrow.
Daisy’s final episode will air on Friday (May 2) but the aftermath will continue into next week, while Christina will be returning later in the year to continue to try and make Jenny’s life a misery.
