Coronation Street star Mikey North has revealed which character he’d like to team up with in the soap’s upcoming crossover episode with Emmerdale.
It was recently announced that the two ITV soaps will air a special hour-long crossover episode in January 2026, making British soap history as characters from the two worlds merge in a celebration of the genre.
Appearing on the latest episode of the Off Script podcast, hosted by former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz, Mikey said that he hopes to share the screen with Jeff Hordley’s character Cain Dingle.
Asked which Emmerdale characters he wants to be mixing with, the Gary Windass actor replied: “It’s got to be Cain, hasn’t it?”
“A Windass and a Dingle, that would be brilliant,” said Kelvin, to which Mikey quipped: “Windass V Dingle.”

Kelvin then pointed out that this could potentially happen as the “fans get to decide which characters are going to have a crossover and maybe a scene together”.

“We’ll vote for you,” added Liz.
It has been confirmed that the crossover episode will involve “an ambitious stunt” that has “everlasting consequences for everyone involved”.
These consequences are set link both communities forever, as familiar faces depart and new arrivals shake things up.

Emmerdale legend Dominic Brunt recently shared his hopes to appear in the crossover episode, which has yet to confirm its cast.
“Lord..Please please please let me be in this story..,” the actor, who’s been playing Paddy Kirk since 1997, wrote on X.
“If not, I’ll be popcorn at the ready anyway. Imagine the potential slanging matches, the affairs, the fights, the comedy, the tragedy..even just for that episode!! As a viewer I can’t wait, as a cast member I await the script.”
