Coronation Street’s Dolly-Rose Campbell, who plays Gemma Winter-Brown, had fans swooning after she revealed her natural hairstyle away from the cobbles.
Dolly rose to prominence portraying Gemma on the ITV soap back in 2014. And as the outspoken Rovers barmaid, it didn’t take long for Gemma to win over viewers and become a beloved character.
She’s also been at the centre of numerous major plotlines. From welcoming quadruplets to the recent tragic loss of her brother Paul (Peter Ash), Gemma’s journey in Weatherfield has been packed with emotional moments.
Off-screen, actress Dolly typically maintains privacy around her personal life and seldom posts updates on social media. But recently, Dolly revealed some gorgeous new professional photographs – and they certainly caught people’s attention.
Posting to her Instagram account, she uploaded multiple images from her latest photoshoot, appearing remarkably different from her Corrie alter ego, with Dolly sporting much shorter, naturally curly locks, reports the Daily Star.
Dolly wrote alongside the images: “Headshots @joeolismith.” Flocking to the comments, admirers and Dolly’s fellow cast members were clearly impressed.
One fan commented: “Gemma needs to go for a haircut and come back as the real you! suits you so well!” Another gushed: “Love love love your natural hair you look beautiful.”
Sue Devaney, who portrays Debbie Webster, also chimed in: “Gorgeous Dolly! Love them!”. Unfortunately, some of Dolly’s social media followers targeted the actress with “rude” and “unnecessary” remarks, with one individual posting: “Oh no Dolly this is aging you.”
Dolly’s supporters quickly rallied to her defence, with one follower stating: “Some people have no filter and are so rude! If you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all.”
Another person commented: “I know right! Some of the comments are just so unnecessary!”
A third fan also remarked: “You are so pretty @dolly_rose_campbell l’m a massive fan of the natural look. The comments on here from people saying it makes you look older are appalling!”.
