Coronation Street‘s Evelyn Plummer makes another return appearance in Monday’s episode as her daughter Cassie’s troubles continue.
Evelyn becomes Cassie’s confidante as the troubled character laments her ongoing problems with Steve McDonald.
Cassie recently became public enemy number one on the cobbles as she was caught out for spiking Ken Barlow’s drinks and stealing his credit card.
Last week, Steve appeared to forgive Cassie as they reignited their passion during a visit to Tim and Sally Metcalfe’s house.

When word got back to Steve’s estranged wife Tracy, she raged over his disloyalty to Ken and threatened to make his life a misery if he continued with the relationship.
In Monday’s episode, Evelyn reappears to meet up with Cassie at the café – joking that she’s back to give her “a final dressing down” before focusing on her studies again.
Evelyn scolds Cassie for creating yet more drama by pursuing Steve, but Cassie admits that they could be over before they’ve even begun.
Cassie says: “He doesn’t want to know me. I know [what I did was] wrong, it was awful. But I would have thought, if he’s happy enough to sleep with me, he’d be happy enough to forgive me.”

Evelyn gives Cassie some tough-talking advice on how to deal with Steve, warning her to stop being a doormat.
Will Cassie listen or continue to let Steve use her? Fans can see how the full story plays out when the episode airs tonight at 8pm on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.
Corrie has been bringing back Evelyn for intermittent appearances since she bowed out as a regular character in January.
Evelyn’s exit story saw her move into halls of residence at university after successfully applying to pursue a law degree.
