Coronation Street has revealed that Daisy Midgeley could lose her baby in upsetting new scenes.
The devastating news was shared in Wednesday’s episode, which was released for early streaming on ITVX this morning.
In dramatic scenes, Daisy and her unborn child faced terrible danger shortly after an emotional showdown at the Rovers Return.
Daisy was put on the spot as Daniel Osbourne demanded the truth over whether he was really the baby’s biological father.
After admitting that she’d lied, Daisy rushed out of the pub and was knocked down in the road by a speeding car.
The vehicle also collided with David Platt, who’d tragically ordered a hit on his own life after hitting rock bottom over his current financial and family problems.
Daisy and David were both seriously injured in the collision and were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Once Daisy regained consciousness, she was devastated to realise that her baby could have been harmed.
Daniel was ultimately put fully in the picture and he confided in Jenny Connor with some worrying news.
He explained: “They’ve fixed [Daisy’s] arm, but when they were moving her off the operating table, they noticed blood.
“Because of the accident, they think that she’s got an abruption in her placenta – kind of like a bruise. She’s been bleeding between the uterus and the placenta.
“They can’t be 100%, but they think she might have lost the baby. They won’t know for sure until they do another ultrasound tomorrow.”
Insisting that Daisy should be kept in the dark for now, Daniel added: “We can’t tell her. She’s just going to be anxious, isn’t she? We wait and see what tomorrow brings.”
The story continues in Friday’s episode (March 7) as the outcome is revealed and DC Kit Green – the baby’s biological father – starts investigating the crash.
Charlotte Jordan announced earlier this year that she’s leaving her role as Daisy after four years. It’s thought that she filmed her final scenes late last month.
